DEVELOPMENT & IMPLEMENTATION
Develop K-12 curriculum addressing these areas:
- Systems Science & Relationships - Earth/Man, Family/Community
- Healthy Behavioral Reinforcement
- Rites of Passage
- Globalism/Ecology/Sustainable Future
- World Religions and Culture
- Psychophysiological Natures
Phase I - Establish directors and team members in key fields of research.
Phase II - Develop curriculum and training syllabus for teachers and students.
Phase III - Implementation of plan.
A public relations team will work in the area of government, media, and public support. Goals include: establish efficient network of contacts in the commercial media, hospital care, the welfare system, child abuse hotlines, runaway help centers, crisis centers, et cetera.
An educational research team will identify the best aspects of successful educational systems. We plan to homogenize these learning methods and tools into a single system that is flexible enough to meet regional, cultural, industrial and individual needs.
We must involve all major network and news media and establish strategic alliances in the areas of academia, government and media that are already involved in social and educational reform. This will be beneficial in research and development as well as the implementation phase.
There are many organizations working in these fields. By creating a consortium between these entities and research areas, as well as networking universities and research organizations utilizing the existing and developing National Information Infrastructure, we can enable an efficient study and development program that will be beneficial to all who participate.
For the first time in the history of the world we are capable of conducting international studies with existing networks without incurring additional development costs. It is time to put that capability into action.
PROJECTED BENEFITS & SUMMARY
The Social Curriculum project, by design is intended to enable understanding and eliminates shame-based feelings through education. It also expands each individuals awareness of his own sense of identity and being, uniqueness and connectedness, to the living systems in which we live.
Since evolution, thus far, has always provided the answers to changing paradigms, it is safe to assume that the ability for us to implement The Social Curriculum exists in human and financial resource. Necessity is still the mother of invention. We need to redirect our efforts toward this goal.
By intervening in the system of social dysfunction, we can significantly reduce its effects--thus disabling its negative function and enabling individuals to operate in a healthier manner with the new and developing paradigms in our age of technology and communication. The educational/intervention program which we propose will alleviate many of the economic burdens under which we currently exist. The Butterfly Effect of this project will extend into many areas of society even to the point of reducing the cost of insurance. The benefits of such preventive medicine are higher levels of individuation and self-esteem; lower levels of child abuse and the degree of its severity; higher degrees of self-concept; better value-systems and dramatically lower crime rates. All of these aspects of our society will be positively affected by The Social Curriculum. It is specifically designed to counter the negative effects that are currently and increasingly the social norm in our nation as well as other industrialized metropolitan societies around the world.
In summary, we must expediently pursue these goals with diligence in order to counter the effects that are propagating themselves like a virus in our society. There is no single entity at fault. This adversity, if not addressed and corrected will continue to cause greater disintegration than we are currently experiencing - further depleting our financial resources. With the knowledge we now possess, continued inaction becomes less excusable with each passing day. The problem is systemic in origin. Therefore the solution must be systemic in its resolution. There are many satellites of hope around the world, people and organizations all striving towards this one goal. We must pool our resources and unify our efforts. With our current level of technology, and by diverting our financial and human resources towards these essential goals, we can expedite this natural evolution. The Social Curriculum proposes to be the force by which we direct the energies of our combined efforts into a single-minded, comprehensive and dynamic direction in the now rapidly flowing river of societal evolution.
